If you regularly clean the glass already, you’re almost certainly in a minority—in our experience, most people don’t even think about it!
Make cleaning the glass part of your regular maintenance routine and you’ll be amazed at how rarely problems like this occur in the future.
#2 – Check The Trays, Latches, & Lenses to Remove Horizontal or Vertical Striping
Prints which come out with “stripes” or a striping style effect, either horizontal or vertical, are often caused by misaligned components of the device. By thoroughly inspecting the latches, trays, and lenses of your Xerox MFP, you can often resolve the issue in just a few minutes.
This is especially true if your device is a few years old. Much like how so few people think of cleaning the glass component of their unit, it’s very rare that a tray or latch is re-seated onto the device. Once you’ve secured everything, it’s entirely possible that your print quality problem will be resolved.
#3 – Mind Your Paper Quality, Stock, & Condition
While this tip isn’t necessarily directly related to the printer, it serves as a good reminder: poor paper quality can substantially impact the overall quality of your prints, even if your Xerox device is in perfect working order.
If you’re having print quality issues, make sure to check the overall condition of your paper stock. Has it been exposed to heat or humidity?
Heat, air, humidity, and light are all the “sworn enemies” of paper, which is why it’s important to plan ahead and store your paper stock in a place where it isn’t likely to be impacted by the elements.
